Happy holidays! As the year end approaches and we look back, we are amazed at how much has happened in the last 12 months, which is why we have your exclusive year in review here (just in case you missed anything)!

WINTER

NEWS: Last winter we kicked off the new year with our announcement that Meredith Corporation would implement Matrix’s cloud-based solution to serve as a comprehensive tool, providing full sales visibility and management functionality to their Local Media Group’s entire sales organization. This addition provided significant sales data and analytics to enterprise users across Meredith’s 17 owned and operated stations.

BLOG: "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now." That Chinese proverb was the focus of a blog that was all about practices that organizations can focus on to get organized for the future when the past is just that. We also delved deep into taking digital ad sales and assessing their true analytics - making data work for you!

EVENTS: We got to travel to Austin for the Mega Conference and New York City for the Borrell LOAC!

SPRING

NEWS: We had a big spring! We announced that we managed $11 billion in ad dollars through our system in 2015 with 50% revenue growth, a 40% increase in user base across new media verticals, and a continued renewal rate of more than 92%. That was a good news day, for sure! Not to mention, we also were featured in CIO Review as one of the Top 20 Most Promising Sales Management Solution Providers. To top it all of, we moved into awesome new digs in the Nova Place in Allegheny Square!

PRODUCT: Media Market Forecast Powered by BIA/Kelsey became available to all customers, significantly extending users’ capabilities for both budgeting and forecasting. We also partnered with TapClicks, a leading marketing technology platform provider, to provide an integrated end-to-end solution that enables clients, media sales organizations, and operational delivery teams to be more efficient, eliminate friction in the sales process and easily deliver fully integrated marketing and advertising campaigns.

EVENTS: April was incredibly busy with all of the events. We had NAB in Las Vegas, OAAA/TAB Conference & Expo in Boca Raton, FL, and the NAA MediaXchange in NYC all within one week! Wild, but very fun. We even managed to throw a sushi and cocktail party at Tao Bistro while in Vegas! In May we traveled to Boston for INTX, where we exhibited. We like keeping busy at Matrix!

SUMMER

PRODUCT: We announced new integrations with IRD’s Prospector and MailChimp. These integrations add important prospecting and email automation capabilities to all our customers. In August we launched our podcast which touches base on the innovations within the walls of Matrix, as well as showcases our partners and industry experts. You can listen on SoundCloud or subscribe on iTunes.

BLOGS: Thanks to our new integration with Mailchimp, we launched a series of blogs about email marketing, including three ways that automated emails help media sales and tips on improving your media emails.

EVENTS: We revealed the date for our inaugural Media Sales Symposium - coming in January 2017!

AUTUMN

NEWS: We became finalists for the Tech50 Awards in the  Innovative Technology Solutions Provider of the Year category. It was such an honor being a finalist again this year and attending the ceremony here in our hometown. Speaking of Pittsburgh, our business development manager, Justin Matase, was elected to serve a three-year term on the Pitt News Advisory Board.

PRODUCT:  Our development team announced that they've been working diligently behind the scenes on an all-new and reinvigorated sales enablement platform, called Monarch! Monarch delivers improved capabilities, a slick user interface and expanded integrations to fit the modern sales workflow. We are anticipating Monarch to be available in early 2017, but in the meantime, you can catch your exclusive sneak peek here.

EVENTS: We attended SMTE in Phoenix and threw a margarita and tapas party while there. The Radio Show was in Nashville this year and proved to be another great event - check out our three takeaways from the event. And to catch you up on recent news around Matrix, we were in Boston this month for the BIA/Kelsey Next event, which proved to focus heavily on expanding revenue locally in digital - something we happen to know a bit about. Lastly, more details were released about our Media Sales Symposium, including sessions and speakers (one of our speakers, Gordon Borrell, recently joined us on our podcast)! We can hardly wait.
