We connected with Matrix MASC Member Becky Meyer from Gray Television to get her position on the value of MASC and its impact on the industry. Listen to her responses below.
What is the value of the Media Ad Sales Council, otherwise known as MASC?
I think the real value is when forward-thinking colleagues representing a wide range of companies come together to discuss industry-wide issues. We can make more headway and gain more ground on problem solving today. Through collaboration, I believe we can better navigate a prosperous future for our industry at large. MASC provides the space for all of that, and hopefully the value will be realized for its members as well as the industry.
Can you tell us why this council, why MASC?
Well, I think our industry has changed significantly over the past three years, and it's continuing to do so at a rapid pace. It's important for me, personally, to have as much information as possible to best serve my company. I hope I can be part of the solutions to what challenges us most from being successful today, as well as where we need to be headed in the future with my contribution to MASC. The members of the committee are so smart. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. I have gained personally from our interaction, which is a huge bonus, and hopefully we can impact the industry at large.
What are you hoping to gain from MASC?
I hope to gain and maintain the perspective of the industry's priorities today and where we're going, moving forward. I would like to contribute all I can to make sure we shine light on those that are our greatest challenges right now. I hope that MASC can be instrumental in conversation starters with either the buy side or vendors related to our tech stack about our collective needs, to be successful for years to come.
